Find Your Customer

Secret #2 – Know Where to Find Your Customer

You have this amazing product or service to offer. If your customer doesn’t know it exists, how do they find it? It’s your responsibility to know where to find your customer.

First, do you know exactly WHO your customer is? If you paused to think about it or unsure, you need to grab the Ideal Customer Avatar guide before you do anything else.

If you’re starting your business and have no idea what all this means, you are in the right place, too. All of this information you will need to know before you launch your business. This is all part of the Business Foundation eBook.

Wherever you are at in your business, the key to getting your amazing product or service in front of potential customers is knowing exactly who your ideal customer is and where they are hanging out.

How do you find them?

Social media a is good place to start. Social media platforms attract different demographics, so know exactly which platform they are on and go be social with them. This doesn’t mean go be spammy and try to sell them what you have. What you need to do is interact with them. If they have a question, be helpful and answer their question. People are curious and will poke around to see who you are.

Note: make sure you have your social media profiles set up with links to your website or where you want them to find you.

If you aren’t a huge fan of social media, find national or local networking groups to join that will have your ideal customer present. Be active and if you can prioritize your time, volunteer, or hold a position.

Are your customers mainly online or local? If they are local, find events you can attend to interact with them. How about national conventions, local meetups, or retreats? Be mindful of these though as you want to make sure they are worth your time and money. These are difficult because you typically only end up talking to a handful of people, collecting business cards, and throwing them away eventually.

The main goal is to find your customer and interact with them. If you listen to what they have to say, you will have content to build your business on. When you provide them with what they are looking for, answering questions they have, helping them solve a problem they are facing, they will keep coming back for more.
